"Hmm, I'd think a lot buy their own toys, I mean why grow up if you still can't have things you want, just cause they look fun." He smiled at that thought then shrugged. "Then again I don't know everything." He nodded to her thought of the space race, agreeing that it would be interesting. He chuckled and rolled his eyes at the thought of strict people. "Not quite sure how that goes. My...parents weren't so much strict, as just uptight, and many other things of course." He smiled slightly and glanced around. "So how far is this place?" He had gotten so caught up in the conversation, that he had completely forgotten about what they had been doing. Where they going to the water tower, or the art museum? He lifted a brow and looked over at her.

Gabie laughed lightly. "I would of rather had uptight parents then very strict ones." She said grinning. She thought a moment to remember which place was closer. "Well, the Water Tower is right up ahead, so we might as well stop there first. Unless you want to go to the Art Museum first?" She turned to look at him. "It isn't that far from the Water Tower."

Meli's brows lifted slightly as he thought of Jake. Before he himself had come along, the kid had suffered things no one should have to. Reasons like that was why meli was here, he was here to protect Jake from those types of things. Sometimes a word didn't cover what class of people some were. And sometimes, the white picket fence hid more than ghosts. Shaking his head slowly, he pulled another smoke from his pack by sliding it out in his pocket. Then together with his lighter, he pulled them out and glanced over at her as she spoke again. "Oh, choices-" he laughed slightly and nodded. "Well, I agree that we should just go to the Water tower first, then maybe the museum." He lit his smoke, and put away his lighter. "So tell me about this Water tower, what's it all about?"

"Well, " She paused a moment to think of how to describe the Water Tower. It was a place that was a bit hard to describe. "It's a building, I mean, a huge one. I got lost the first time I went there." She told him, laughing lightly as she remembered it clearly. "And, of course, apart of that building is a Water Tower. I don't remember if there's Water in it still, but it was built quite nicely." She turned to look at him and smiled. "The place is nice to look at. And of course, wonderful to wander about." Her smile turned into one of a child. "The place also echoes everything. So, it's fun to make random noises and hear them echo."

Laughing, he shook his head slightly and looked at her. "Thats great!" he said with a wide smile. "I like when the echo changes it after awhile. Thats fun, and wheres there an echo, there's usually something to dive into, off of, or climb up on." Grinning, he flicked the brim of his hat up to look up easier, and a stray black lock oh his hair fell onto his forehead. He ignored it since it wasn't bothering him yet, and took a drag off his smoke. He was going to have to switch back to cigars, he was having way to many of these things. Pushing the stray thoughts from his mind he looked over at her and smiled again. "Sounds like were going to have fun. So are we getting in through the door? Or we going to take a climb up?" He smirked, and chuckled softly. There were many fun things ways to get into any place.

Gabrielle grinned widely as she nodded. "Yeah, the Water Tower is easy to open, so if you wanted, you can go for a swim!" She told him, laughing. The first time she figured out how to open the door, she had a blast. It was fun to go there all the time and take a swim after hours. She hadn't been there in awhile though. "Oh, we're going to have to climb up. The front door was recently fixed, so it's hard to sneak in through that way." She smirked. "But, climbing up makes it more exciting to sneak in there at night." She said, laughing.

He laughed along with her, and shook his head slightly. "I'm all in for a climb and a quick swim." He took another drag off his smoke, and let trailing wisps of the smoke drift out of his mouth into the cold night air. "Climbing is so much fun. Ever since I was a kid I've liked climbing trees or buildings, or anything really. And now with me...new found abilities-" he held out his hands, and his nails hardened with his thought. "-it is so much easier." He looked at the short spikes then let the nails soften and return to normal again. Then he took a last drag of the smoke and flicked it away. He was impatient with cigarettes or cigars for that matter, both of them took longer than he wanted, which was why he went through so many.

"Oh, I wish I could do that!" Gabriell said laughing as she looked at her hands, clenching and unclenching them. "But, I agree. Climbing things is really fun. Oddly enough, even if you fall from the thing you're climbing on, it seems to make it more fun and more tempting to continue the climb." She said, grinning and laughing once again. "You sure do smoke a lot, don't ya?" She asked, tilting her head slightly as she looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "I assume you don't have the patience to smoke them all the way through?"

Again he laughed with her and nodded. "Aye, tis a fun thing to climb, and it only hurts if you don't know how to land." he chuckled. When she pointed out his smoking and why, he laughed and nodded. "Aye again. I'm very impatient, and fidgety so I tend to either chain smoke or continually toss them away and light a new one up in a few minutes." He smirked and looked at her. "And as for the nail thing, any of our kind could do it, or many others I imagine. Its about the thoughts, concentration, and what not. Takes time is all." He had met a few others that could do it and it always interested him when he came across something new that one of their kind could do. He would usually study and practice whatever it was they could do, just to see if he could do it. Sometimes he couldn't, like flying. He had met one that could do that, and he was completely incapable of it, even though he had studied it for a while and still did look at studies of it every so often. There wasn't much though, and for two years wasn't quite enough time. He had really only learned two things, the nail hardening one of them, since he had become this way. Wasn't much considering he also only studied four things. But he would learn more, he was sure of it.

"Really? I didn't know that." She said, regarding towards the thing he did with his hands. "How'd you learn to do that? Find it out on mistake or what?" Gabrielle asked him, really wanting to know as she looked down at her hands once again. Yes, she's been a vampire for quite some time, but no one was ever there to help her with things, so she was still learning everything she could about what vampires did and how. She still was learning about their weaknesses and such. So far, she knew one of her weaknesses was overly bright light. And that was certainly NOT a fun thing to find out...

He shrugged and glanced at his hand. "Nothing like that. I had met this vampire, and she did it when she had attacked me." he chuckled lightly, and then rubbed his ear lobe. An unconscious gesture that Jake had passed over to him. "After I convinced her not to kill me, she told me a few things. Nothing too important granted, but she showed me that she could do that, and I started studying things like this. haven't gotten far yet, but, we'll see how it goes." He smiled at her and looked up at the structure that bore down on them as they came closer. Things like this interested him in a way, he was always curious though to see what humans would do next, and this, this storing water above earth monument that they built, made him smirk at the fleetingness of their lives. They lived for 'The Now' merely because, for humans, there was no tomorrow.

"Oh, "Gabie nodded, looking up from her hands. "That does suck though that you were attacked. But, at least you got some very useful knowledge out of it." She said, grinning a bit. "Too bad every fight I've been into...just makes me realize some vampires...are really asses." She told him laughing a bit. The main vampire that popped in her head was her ex-husband, but she tried not to remember him at this moment. "I swear, everytime I come here...this place looks taller." She said laughing again, getting her mind off the ex. "But, I might just be getting shorter."

He laughed as well. "Vampires are no exception. Every living thing has the potential to become an asshole." When she mentioned that the place looked taller, he shrugged slightly, never having seen it before, then laughed slightly. "I doubt your getting shorter, or this structure taller, most likely just that it becomes shorter in your memory." Stretching his fingers out as his the nails hardened again, he looked at the wall and placed a hand onto it. "Well, shall we climb?" he smirked. And then, as if the wall was butter, his fingers sank into it, and he dug his other hand in just at the end of his reach. The unfortunate thing about this, was that his feet couldn't do the same, and so he was left with mere hand helds.

Gabrielle grinned slightly. "You know, you could of just used the ladder." She said lightly laughing as she walked over to the ladder that was only a few feet from him and grabbed one of the bar. "But, I have to admit. I like your way a hell of a lot better." She said laughing again as she started to climb up the ladder.

Chuckling, he moved upwards, his shoes every now and again sliding along the surface. His grip was good enough though, and soon enough his hand grabbed onto a bar, and he brought himself up and over in a leap, landing with a soft thud on grating. He shook himself off then took off his hat and smoothed back his hair. "So far this is fun." He said as he leaned on the rail and offered her a hand to get onto the grating.
