During my most recent rp sessions with Kera, a glimmer of a plot started stirring in my brain.
Though Kera only knows and only does white magick, she knows how to use a fairly powerful mesmerizing spell on people. After Donovan made her mad enough, she had no issue using it on him to get him to do what she wanted.
Power is a powerful temptation, and just because something's not directly harmful doesn't mean it can't be used for a darker purpose.
Kera's justification for using the spell was that she was right, and what she wanted Donovan to do was important. The makings of a perfect villain or antagonist is when they believe they're right.
I'm thinking it could be very interesting to have Kera abusing the control spell on Donovan, but this time with a witness. (Starting out innocently enough, with commands like "Dance a silly dance", or "Say the name of the woman you have a crush on," but then becoming either more cruel, or more against what Donovan clearly would do or say.
A darker-tinged third party could encourage this, either to try and corrupt Kera, or simply to watch Donovan (a powerless human) suffer.
A lighter-tinged character might initially see something funny about what was happening, but would probably start to try and stop the whole thing. (Which could provoke Kera to have a new target.)
Someone who knew Kera from previous plots might very well be very bothered by this aspect of her, especially if they've never seen such a thing like that from her.
I think it has the potential for some nice drama. (And scenes of Donovan abuse, which Kera seemed to get a perverse satisfaction from.)
