Meg's mother was a pretty little, thing, but greatly disadvantaged.
At the age of 18, she was raped, and Meg was the result that followed 9 months later.
Being a teenaged, single mother, Meg's mother found it hard to cope with looking after the baby as she still wanted to go to school, but was forced to work to feed them.
She never really loved Meg, as she was a reminder of what happened to her. She was the reason she'd no longer be able to go to school and get a better education to get the job she wanted.
As Meg grew older, her mother would snap for one stressful reason or another and remind Meg she was what ruined her mother's life.
At the age of 5, Meg knew what had happened to her mother and was often told that she'd end up the same for ruining her mother's life.
One day, her mother abandoned 6 year old Meg out on the street, telling her that she'd left her keys in the car and had to go get them so that s=they could get inside.
Really, her mother had packed everything she'd needed and left Meg, sitting outside their abandoned appartment at 10 at night.
Meg wasn't stupid. She'd heard the car start up and fearfully ran back to where the car was, but her mother had gone and left her here.
Scared of being alone, Meg ran to the nearest house and thundered on the door until someone opened the door.
A midleaged woman answered the door and upon seeing a frightened, crying child on her door step, immediately brought her inside.
After Meg told her that her mother abandoned her, the woman -Carrie- decided to take her in until she could find Meg a suitable foster home.
She told Meg that she could stay until then, as she didn't have the room for a child or the resources to look after one.
Meg stayed with this woman for 3 months, before a youngish couple decided to adopt her.
They told Carrie that they could not have a child of their own, and had wanted a daughter.
Meg had been more sad than she'd thought she'd be to leave Carrie, as she tried to remind herself that she wasn't going to live with her, though once she settled in with her new parents, -Dan and Justine- she began to open up again, and enjoying being a kid again.
The years went past, and Meg thrived at school.
She was smart, popular and attracted a lot of male attention.
She learned to love her new parents and rarely thought of her real mother.
A month after Meg's 15th birthday, Meg's foster mother was killed in a car accident, on the way to pick Meg up from her dance lessons.
Dan took his wife's death badly and sank into a deep depression, having to take time off of work.
Meg was forced to drop her outer curricular activities as they couldn't afford them, and had to take up a job as well as school.
The whole time, she couldn't help but fear that she was going to turn out like her biological mother afterall.
Once Dan began drinking heavily, Meg started to be accused by him.
He'd tell her she was the reason Justine had died and that no one, not even their addopted daughter was worth living when she was dead.
As months went slowly past, Dan began to beat Meg until she bled and often locked her outside.
The last night she spent in his company, he'd finally fallen so far as to rape his 15 year old, adopted daughter.
It wasn't until then that Meg cracked.
He'd been stronger than her, but once he'd finished and moved to beat her, Meg fought him back.
In her blinded fury, she'd pulled out the knife he'd often threatened her with out of his bedside table and stabed him.
To crazed with anger to stop herself, Meg stabbed him again and again until blood stopped flowing from the wounds.
She was slightly surprised that she felt no regret for the death of the man she once called father.
She'd trusted him and he'd done nothing but abuse her trust.
Meg cleaned up her tracks and left.
Not knowing where she was headed, Meg moved from train to train, staying here and there, but getting away from anyone she knew.
After two weeks, Meg found a run down little cottage outside of a small town.
Deciding she'd try and replenish herself and get some money, Meg settled the small amount of possesions she carried in the hut and took to the town.
She had very little money and no one seemed to care about the stranger, lone teenaged girl.
Finally, someone offered her work and a room in their house, but Meg wouldn't trust again. She took the job, but insisted that she had somewhere to live.
The cottage was small and looked roughed up, but it was functional.
She had running water, which she was surprised about.
A month after moving into the cottage, a man not a day over 20 years of age arrived at her home.
Meg tried to get him out, though froze as he told her that it was his home.
Confuised, and now scared that her life had been torn from her again, Meg tried to get him to leave again, though his calm and gentle tone and gestures got her to stop long enough to listen to him.
She ignored his assesive eyes on her, as she'd learned to ignore the boys at school doing the same thing.
The man had revealed that his name was Zack and that he didn't mind if Meg stayed, as long as she didn't annoy him.
Meg had grown used to being alone and was agitated about sharing a house again -especially one so small- though she agreed.
It would be easier to endure his company than find somewhere else to live.
With that decision, Meg woke up early every morning, and didn't return home until late into the evening when it was too dark to put off going home.
She didn't mind Zack. He seemed nice enough, and was very handsome, but she didn't trust men, not after what her foster father did to her.
Long after her 16th birthday, Meg had enough money to rent out a small appartment in town, and worked enough to be able to keep up with the weekly rent.
Though as she began searching for a new home, she found she didn't want to leave.
A year at this cottage with the strange, handsome man had made her want to stay.
She coped everyday, and took pleasure in knowing she was doing better than her mother had done.
Meg didn't get pregnant, but everytime she got happy somewhere, her life was torn appart.
Meg couldn't help but expect it to happen again, but nothing bad did happen.
Now able to trust Zack, she'd come home earlier and enjoy any conversations they shared.
She spoke little of what happened to her, though was amazed how much lighter she felt when she did tell him things, like about her mother and her foster mother's death.
She didn't tell him about her foster father though. She just said she was made to leave, and he didn't press the matter.
As another year went past, Meg began to admit to the feelings she felt for the ever youthful man and was urprised when he told her that he loved her.
Once they had admitted to eachother, Meg felt happy again. A carefree happy she hadn't felt since before her foster mother died.
Not long after her 19th birthday, Zack tried to tell her that he was a werewolf.
After a bit of an arguement, Meg paniced. She thought he was crazy and if he was, she didn't know what she'd do. She'd opened up to him more than he had to anyone else, and she loved him.
She'd been close to him in every way a lover could and was scared that she'd trusted another insane person.
Knowing that she didn't believe him, Zack phased into his pitch balck wolf form and tried to bite her.
Scared out of her wits, Meg fled and screamed for help.
She believed him now, but thought he was going to kill her, not knowing he wanted to change her.
In the forest just on the outskirts of town, He cornered her.
Meg stared in horror as he lunged at her and let out a scarem scream as his fangs sank into her neck.
As red hot pain blinded her, Meg barely heard the sound of a gun, but she heard Zack's pained grunt and felt him tumble off of her.
As her vision returned, the first thing Meg noticed was blood.
Both his and hers.
Meg whimpered as she noticed Zack's lifeless, wolf form.
Looking up at the man holding the gun, Meg couldn't believe her life had been torn up again.
Surprising herself again, Meg dried the two tears that had slipped onto her cheeks and stood up shaking.
She was begining to feel different, but couldn't explain how.
She ignored the man as he tried to help her. Ignored the throbbing in her neck and never looked back at Zack.
Once she'd packed her things, Meg left the town and headed elsewhere.
The next month, Meg came to terms about what she was and used it to her advantage.
She could move faster, could steal without prosecution, was immortal and could kill without being charged.

It was of course, his 17th birthday.
Duke couldn't help but grin.
His parent's had paid half for the car he'd been saving up for, which was a surprise.
It was a dark greenish blue Subaru Impreza... oldish.. yeah but there was always room for tinkering!
Even better...
He had his license!
The drive to school was the first time he'd driven alone... and he was loving it.
He assumed he'd be back roughly recess.
Turning the wheel, Duke turned up the volume, letting one of his favorite songs, Riot by 'Three days grace[/i] pulse through the car.
He loved it already.
At about 6pm he had it booked in to get a new sound system.
That wasn't the only thing he'd gotten for his birthday.
His parent's also got him a new guitar.
He knew he was getting it, but he was still surprised when he finally got it.
It was an Ibernez.
It played perfectly, and stunned Duke at how much better it sounded than his other guitars.
He'd also gotten a phone call from his best friend who lived out of town, saying that he was coming to see him on the weekend for his birthday, while their mother's when shopping.
So far, Duke was loving his birthday.
Pulling up in the car park at school, Duke sighed as he got out of his new car.
Grabbing his bag and flinging it over his shoulder, Duke locked the car, gazed at it for a moment, then headed towards the gates.
As he entered the main entrance, the bell for recess went.
Duke grinned and hurried to his locker, dumping his books before heading towards his girlfriend’s locker.
