Tonight was the scariest night on my life. I heard a yell coming from the living room and ran downstairs to see what was going on because, like usual, my curiosity got the better of me. My mother was gone tonight because she was taking my older brother out for the night. My father wanted a night alone with me to train me for the creatures that he calls vampires. I still can't believe that they are real...it's creepy...Well, when I got down there, my father was being thrown into the wall on the side of the room with the television by three vampires. I watched in horror, completely frozen as he shattered the screen with his body weight and fell to the ground. Without thinking, my stupid self tried to attack. I took a knife lying nearby that must've fallen from Dad's hand and lunged at the nearest vampire. He caught me by the throat and hummed me across the room as if I was simply nothing but a stuffed animal. My father called my name, but my head was buzzing, and I felt pain exploding in my ribs. I felt a hand at my neck and then tried to open my eyes. My heart almost stopped as I saw my worst nightmare. One of the vampires was holding a dagger to my throat as my father tried to get to me. My screams of horror and despair were drowned out by laughter as they held me there. They let me go when my father had thrown a stake into one of their hearts, and I fell hard to the ground. After they had left, I crawled over to my father's chest and collapsed on top of him, crying and latching myself onto him...two days later, he was gone...and it was all my fault...
