History: (at least 250 words)
Ruth as a young girl was a sweet, straight A+ student. She grew up happily, with her mother, father and younger brother who was an unexpected pregnancy. He was born when Ruth was at a tender age of 15.
Ruth continued onto college and graduated as a music and english teacher. At the age of 21, she married the man (Daniel) she'd fallen in love with when she was only 14. A year later, she fell pregnant and gave birth to a young girl, which set her teaching career back a step.
The couple faced a bit of a rough time, trying to support the small family with only Daniel working, but they coped. Two months after her 23rd birthday, Daniel, Sarah(the baby girl) and Ruth attended a family get together just out of town. Sarah was only 8 months old at the time, and Ruth felt she was old enough to cope with exposure to the family, though Ruth wanted to head home early to settle Sarah to bed before Danial came home.
The night went in a flash for Ruth, as she was flocked with relatives who were all eager to meet the newest addition to the family. Ruth's little brother, Arjay, was 8 years old at the time and was holding Sarah the last time he saw his big sister.
Oblivious to the fact that she'd been watched the whole night, Ruth needed some air. She Gave Sarah to Arjay to hold for her while she slipped out to the car to gather Sarah's nappy bag, though she didn't make it that far.
The last she can remember of the night was being grabbed roughly around the waist, a firm hand around her mouth as someone dragged her into a nearby car, where she was bound at the wrists to the back of the seat. No-one heard her calls for help, nor did her captor speak until the car stopped.
All she could see of him were long locks of blonde hair and piercing purple eyes.
She was scared, more than she had ever been in her entire life.
Things moved quickly from there on, despite her struggles and fight, her captor managed to drag her into an old eerie shack. The man that caught her threw her onto a harsh, old bed, but before she could react, He was above her, pinning her down so that she couldn't escape.
Again all she could see out of the shadows were two brilliant purple eyes/ She wanted to run, knowing that this man wasn't Daniel, but she had no way of doing so. She froze in horror as she watched two long, pearl-white fangs prop out where she guessed his mouth was.
Ruth wanted to scream as the man sunk his fangs deep into her neck, springing tears of pain and shock to her eyes.
Ruth slowly began to feel life drain away and began to fret for her daughter and husband. Finally, the man stopped and she could see her blood dripping from his fangs as he grinned at her. She watched in facinated horror as he sliced his tongue (her eyes now more adapted to the dark), making blood spring into his mouth. As fast as anything, he was on her and was forcing his tongue into her mouth , Ruth could do nothing to stop him, but as his blood began to trickle down her throat, she began to feel stronger.
Her sence of sight and smell changed too, and she could feel two long fangs grow in her mouth. Thinking quick, she snuck her hand out and found what felt like a lamp, picked it up and smashed it against his head. After he collapsed, Ruth blacked out, unable to hold onto conciousness.
When Ruth awoke, she was alone, and she used this to escape.
The first place she went, was back home, but her beloved husband and child weren't there.
She never found them either.
After 2 years of searching for her lost family, Ruth left the area, moving from place to place trying to forget her past and accept her new life.
Sample/Past Roleplay:
He must have done something wrong.
Upset her somehow.
why else would she leave him like that?
So quickly and suddenly.
Whatever it was she wasn’t telling him, and no matter what she said about ‘needing to be sure’ or whatever, he was certain it was something he’d done… or maybe not done…
Duke harshly slammed the front door behind him, glad his parents weren’t home yet, or it would be a lecture.
Running heatedly up the stairs, Duke thrust open his bedroom door and threw his bag down on the ground.
Clutching his hair with both hands, Duke sat down on his bed and stared darkly at his guitar.
He was so sure she was the one. That she was the girl he’d grow old with, the girl he’d live to please and adore. He thought she knew that, how much clearer could he make it.
Running his hands over his face, Duke groaned and fell on his back against his unmade bed, not caring that his shoes were still on or anything.
After she’d broken up with him, he’d tried to avoid her to try and not let the gash she’d made in his chest throb with pain.
He’d been with her for over a year and worshiped the ground she walked on.
He would do anything for her!
How was he not her man? He didn’t understand. She seemed happy before.
He must have done something. Said something stupid that she took to heart without him realizing perhaps.
His face covered by his hands, Duke couldn’t possibly think how he’d cope without being with her. She meant more than the world to him; and now not being able to call her his…. Not even being able to be near her…
He wished Ms. Hiller never sat him beside her on his first day. Maybe then he wouldn’t have noticed her as much? He wouldn’t have met her maybe.
He wished he had, that way he wouldn’t feel the hurt that he did now….. But then the last year would never have been so great if he didn’t know her… Duke scoffed bitterly to himself.
What difference did it make, she’s not mine
He was so sure she was the girl for him.
Removing his hands from his face Duke frowned up at the ceiling. He wanted right now to hate her. To pin all this on her and be done with it, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t hate her. It would kill him to hate her. He could no longer love her either, not the same way as he had for the last year or so. Well he could, but she obviously no longer felt the same. So it would be wasted.
Sitting back up before slowly getting to his feet, Duke stormed out of his room and back down the stairs, ignoring the spare room to the right of the stairs that he used to call ‘Tash’s room’ as she stayed over on the full moon of every month.
He guessed now it was just the spare room again.
Glaring, Duke strode through the kitchen and out the door, ruffling the black shepherd’s –Maxxi- fur as she padded innocently to him, her thick furry tail wagging.
“I wish all girls were like you” He muttered bitterly, sitting on the chair as she placed her head in his lap, her large brown eyes staring up at him.
Duke sighed, running his free hand over his face as he patted her, his thumb running along her snout.
After awhile, Duke fed her then went back inside. Not knowing, or really caring when his parents got home, or the mountain of homework that sat in his bag, Duke stormed his way back to his room and heatedly picked up his favorite guitar, plugging it into the amp and turning it up loud and setting it on heavy distortion.
Strumming it, Duke turned it up louder. He’d drown out his emotions this way… Well he’d try to.
Belting out random chords, Duke just let whatever chords his fingers glided to make snarl through the amp.
If he didn’t love his guitar so much, he’d have thrown it by now he was that hurt and angry.
He couldn’t be angry at Tash though, even though he wanted to be. Even though he wanted not to have ever met her or to know her or to care about her.
He wished he didn’t love her.
But he did, and he was angry with himself for it.
Staying in his room for ages, Duke ignored the phone that rang twice in his mother’s office and bashed out songs like ‘Enter Sandman’ by Metalica and ‘Schism’ by Tool.
Anything with heavy distortion that he could play, he played. Then played again.
His fingers stung, but he didn’t care.
Finally when a few of his fingers did bleed, Duke turned everything off and put the guitar away. Still restless, Duke headed out of his room and into the kitchen, washing his hands and drying them.
Then the phone rang again.
Grunting irritably, Duke stormed into office and snatched up the phone.
“Yeah?”
Hello. Where’ve you been, I’ve called three times
Duke silently groaned and rolled his head back at his mother’s voice, closing his eyes.
“I was in my room, playing the guitar” He snapped.
Are you alright?
“I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” He said coolly, though trying to sound more casual.
It didn’t work.
No somethings wrong. Is Tash there? Tell me-
“I’m fine. Was there a reason to your call?” He snapped, knowing that he’d feel bad about snapping at his mother later, but didn’t care.
We will talk when we get home. Can you put the washing on for me? Your father and I will be home in about half an hour.
“Yep. Where’s Dad?”
Heading home now, he’s about an hour away, I’m not sure which of us will get home first
Duke shrugged.
“Alirght. That all?”
For now, do some homework and you better be out of that mood when I get home She said, an evident heated tone to her voice.
“Sure. Bye” Duke sighed.
Bye Hun
Hanging up the phone Duke strode into the laundry, throwing clothes into the washing machine then setting it up.
Once done, Duke decided that he’d ignore his homework and went and slouched in front of the T.V .
Flicking through the channels aimlessly, Duke couldn’t push the thought of Tash out of his mind.
It seemed his own brain was against him. Whenever he didn’t concentrate for a split second, it replayed the scene of her breaking up with him.
Duke narrowed his eyes and glared at the T.V, his mouth set in a straight line, his knuckles white from clenching his fists.
How could he have stuffed things up so badly?
He didn’t even know she was unhappy. He wished she could have spoken to him first so that he could have at least tried to redeem himself.
Anything.
Sighing as he threw his head back, Duke tried to just not think about it. Maybe she was having a rough day and things would pan out tomorrow.
Still watching T.V, Duke moved very little as his parents got home.
Duke! You’ve finished your homework? his mother asked with surprise.
“No”
Then what are you doing?
Duke turned slowly, the same dark look on his face.
‘Watching T.V… What does it look like?”
Before his father could scold him, Jen (mother) frowned.
Hun, what’s wrong?
“Nothing’s wrong! I’m fine” He snapped, harshly turning the T.V off and standing up, his body ridged.
Now Duke, calm yourself down and talk to us Chris (father) said sternly.
‘There’s nothing to talk about!” He snarled, breezing past them and heading towards the stairs.
No we will talk about it! You get bac- Chris started, but he was cut off by his wife.
If you won’t talk to us, then how about you get Tasha over to talk with she hinted softly, guessing something went wrong between the two, but knowing that if she asked straight out, he wouldn’t say what.
Duke scoffed, standing on the 3rd step, facing his parents.
“That won’t help”
You don’t know that… She might-
“MUM! It won’t work alright!?!” Duke yelled his face livid.
Before either of his parents could speak, Duke continued.
“She broke up with me. Okay? Satisfied? Can you leave me alone now?” He added, though now in such a loud voice, taking a few more steps up the stairs.
What for?
‘I don’t know.. I don’t want to talk about it” He said in a much softer voice, though it sounded more hurt than angry.
“Just, back off for awhile” He finished, leaping up the stairs and into his room.
Falling flat on his back on top of his bed, Duke grabbed his ipod doc remote and it on.
He’s turned it off when he woke up that morning and had no idea what song it was on.
Unable to recognize the last 5 seconds of what ever song had just finished, Duke breathed heavily, closing his eyes as ‘Don’t wanna miss a thing’ came on next.
How ironic that ‘their’ song come on now. Was he not suffering enough?
Throwing the pillow over his head, Duke tried to calm himself down.
He wished he didn’t miss her.
Or ever loved her.
Actually, if he had never met her, none of this would have happened, and he wouldn’t be hurting like he was now.
